“I am amazed by the incomprehensible attitude of Armenian political thought,” said Tatul Hakobyan, a history researcher and coordinator of the ANI Foundation for Armenian Studies, during a discussion organized by the Article 3 Club on November 16.
He underlined that at this moment, when the future of Armenia becomes uncertain, we continue to decline after the defeat in the war. We do not know where the floor is or where we should stand, and a large part of the Armenian people is still interested in the issue of recognizing the Armenian Genocide in Great Britain.
“I am astonished when the pan-Armenian structures continue to give priority to issues that should not be on the agenda of the Republic of Armenia today. Maybe 5 years ago it was right. Our Diaspora organizations, our lobbying organizations just had to “bombard” embassies, organizations, and lobbying groups. And I do not see any work in that direction. We have network structures, but their work is not felt at the moment. We do not feel it. I am under the impression that Armenia has been left to the irony of fate. The winds are taking this Armenia, this defeated, kneeling Armenia, in that direction as they want.”

Tatul Hakobyan also referred to the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “It simply came to our notice then. We do not have a Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Do you know what it’s like when you have a computer in front of you, but that computer freezes? Now the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s brain is “freezing.” Our best diplomats have left, there is no coordination, and the connection between Yerevan and the embassies is not working. It’s a disgusting situation, I’m sorry for that word. And Nikol Pashinyan and his catastrophic team are responsible for this. This is the sad reality.”
