On November 22 in the village of Debed in the Lori region, the last farewell was given to contract soldier Davit Amiryan, who died on November 16 in the Syunik hostilities. Davit, 41, served in the Armenian Armed Forces for about 6 years. He left for Syunik on November 6. David’s relatives saw him injured on a Telegram channel. While trying to inform the Ministry of Defense and the Red Cross about the video, they heard the news of the soldier’s death.
“We went to the military unit. We were interested in Davit. We found the video at night. His brother called and said that there was a video showing that Davit was injured. In the morning we agreed to go to the ministry. But on the way we heard the news of his death,” Debed community leader Ashot Ghazaryan told Aravot. Davit was not married. The hero was buried with military honors. Davit also participated in the 44-day war. During the same fight, another soldier from the Debed community, Harutyun Sargsyan, was taken prisoner. Harutyun’s parents also recognized their son from a video spread on one of the Azerbaijani Telegram channels.
“Harutyun’s family members saw him in the video, recognized him, went to the Ministry of Defense, and made a statement. Evidence has been presented,” said the village leader. Harutyun is also a contract soldier and a father of three. And they still have no news from Karlen Stepanyan, a resident of the same village.
“Karlen is not seen in any video at all. We are constantly trying to do the same for Karlen if we see him somewhere. Now we are waiting, watching the videos that are being spread, we are also trying to find Karlen,” said Ashot Ghazaryan, and he mentioned that Karlen is married and has one child. The residents of the Debed community also took part in the 44-day war. About 40 people went to the border to defend their homeland. Six of the boys were injured.
