On November 25, at the initiative of the Armenia faction, parliamentary hearings were organized on the issues of demarcation and delimitation. The leader of the Armenia faction Seyran Ohanyan, who was the main speaker, said, “These authorities, ignoring, destroying, nullifying the negotiation and the united democratic potential, and violating domestic and international decision-making procedures, led Artsakh to defeat, leaving the people of Artsakh in a geographical enclave and signing a capitulation document. Not realizing that at some point the borders should be clarified, ignoring our geographical advantages, after the cessation of hostilities, without grounds, legal norms, maps, special explanations, the most important strategic areas connecting Artsakh to Armenia and important border points, they surrendered roads to the enemy and threw the citizens of border settlements into the clutches of Azerbaijan’ constant pressure on us.”
According to Seyran Ohanyan, our authorities did not quickly furnish the border or take steps to prevent the opening of the corridor, perhaps by verbal agreement, and put the country in this catastrophe. Seyran Ohanyan said that the Armenian authorities, instead of taking steps to unite the society, came up with a false agenda to open an era of peace. “It is unclear whose interests they are defending with the misuse of diplomatic and negotiation resources and the establishment of unprincipled, inconsistent relations with strategic partners.”
Seyran Ohanyan noted that the Armenia faction is not against peace and the clarification of borders, but not without appropriate conditions and at the wrong time at the expense of Armenia’s and Artsakh’s interests. He noted that while carrying out demarcation and delimitation works, the inclusion of Artsakh in Azerbaijan should be ruled out. ”
As for the unblocking of roads and the operation of regional communications, we are in favor of it, but not at the expense of ensuring the security of our country and reducing the level of sovereignty. Turkish-Azerbaijani preconditions are unacceptable. And we see that the authorities of our country are fulfilling those demands. The begging calls for peace from official Yerevan further arouse the enemy’s appetite and cause new problems. It is not news that these days, the demarcation and delimitation is taking place in the most degrading way: with the blood of Armenian soldiers. What happened on November 16 is proof of that.”
