“It is simply pointless to talk about demarcation now because there is an enemy in front of you who claims that they also want to take Yerevan,” former Prime Minister of Armenia Vazgen Manukyan told reporters during a briefing on November 26, referring to Nikol Pashinyan’s readiness to start a demarcation process with Azerbaijan. According to him, “Are you talking about borders with such an enemy? Even states in peace have been dealing with border issues for decades, so now it is a false issue. I do not even want to discuss the conditions of the process.”
Vazgen Manukyan stressed, “According to the November 9 capitulation document, the troops were to remain in Kovsakan. So, if they wanted to clarify the borders, let them stay there and start negotiations. Why did the Armenian side retreat and retreat every minute?” As for the possible dangers that will arise in the name of unblocking, Vazgen Manukyan said, “It is only about one type of communication – to allow Turkey to realize its hundred-year-old dream – to unite the Turkic-speaking peoples, to bring Turkey to Central Asia and China. Turkey and Azerbaijan are solving this problem, and it is not in our national interests.”
Vazgen Manukyan thinks that a corridor through Syunik will be given as a supposed road․ “And then, it will not remove the blockade from the Republic of Armenia.”
