“The installation of a customs house on a 21-kilometer section of the Goris-Kapan road was Azerbaijan’s reaction. Before that, Azerbaijan was trying to present the Goris-Kapan road as a road given by it with a corridor logic, in return for which they wanted to get a road from us with a corridor logic.
The installation of this customs point has naturally caused problems for our citizens, which are temporary, by the way, because the construction of new roads will solve them, but in international negotiations it is not so bad because it’s not us who entered Azerbaijan’s corridor logic, but Azerbaijan who entered our non-corridor logic,” said NA Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan in an interview with journalists in the National Assembly on December 8.

He said that a part of the Goris-Kapan road does not enter the Republic of Armenia border according to Soviet maps, echoing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Rubinyan stressed that when the opposition says that Armenia has no border and demarcation is still necessary, it turns out that it is not in favor of Armenia, it is in favor of the aggressive side, Azerbaijan, because they will say you have no border and will occupy it. Therefore, this unstable state will aggravate the problem.”
