Former Turkish Ambassador to the United States Sardar Kilic has been appointed special envoy for talks on normalization of relations with Armenia, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Anadolu Agency reports.
Sardar Kilic was born in 1958 in Samsun. He graduated from Ankara University in 1980 with a degree in Political Science. He has been in the diplomatic service since 1984. Serdar Kilic has served as Turkey’s ambassador to Lebanon (2008-2010), Japan (2012-2014) and the United States (2014-2021). The diplomat also served as Secretary General of the Turkish National Security Council in 2010-2012.
