“The bastion of democracy is losing to a country where power is hereditary”: Robert Kocharyan

December 27,2021 15:55

“The bastion of democracy is losing in a country where power is hereditary, where the president appoints his wife as vice president, where dozens of journalists are imprisoned, and where the president’s family is involved in all offshore scandals,” said Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia, noting that Armenia continues to lose to the enemy in a propaganda war.

“During the war, no country made condemning statements towards the country that started the war. But we are also losing now,” Robert Kocharyan said, calling attention to the fact that Armenia is losing to the country with the aforementioned characteristics not only in the propaganda war, but also in Europe.

“How we are losing, though, I simply do not understand,” he said.

According to him, the Armenian authorities could not even maintain the international community’s attention to return the prisoners of war over the past year.

Regarding the Artsakh conflict, Kocharyan said that the incumbent authorities in Armenia have simply washed their hands of Artsakh, either involuntarily or deliberately. Either way, there is a huge problem.
