The leader of the European Party of Armenia, Tigran Khzmalyan, and a group of citizens were protesting in front of the government building on January 10th, demanding to get out of Kazakhstan and the CSTO.
Several demonstrators were holding posters with such statements written on them.
The demonstration did not last long; about 30 minutes after presenting their demand through posters in front of the government building, the protesters left. Mass riots broke out in Kazakhstan on January 2, days after the Kazakh president announced that he had asked the leaders of the CSTO member states for help in preventing the terrorist threat in the country, after which Armenia sent a peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan. Armenia, as the CSTO presiding country, has recently sent CSTO peacekeeping troops to Kazakhstan, which, according to an official statement, must protect strategic facilities.
