At the end of December, the EU Delegation to Armenia signed three contracts with Kapan, Dilijan and Ijevan municipalities. These local authorities were selected from Armenia under a call for proposals to implement pilot projects in the framework of the EU-funded Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) regional facility.
During the coming years, the €2.7 million co-financing from the European Union will help to develop selected projects: the TUMO Centre for Creative Technologies will be set up in Kapan’s historic train station in partnership with the Simonian Educational Foundation, an abandoned Soviet-era sewing factory in Diligan will be transformed into a modern art cluster co-working space for enterprises and individuals, and the Innoijevan platform will be set up in Ijevan hosting new Armath Engineering Laboratories, a ‘Real School’ and a co-working space for businesses and individuals.
The projects are expected to be launched early this year.
