“RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan actually stated at the year-end press conference and subsequent statements, ‘Yes, I am a traitor, if you can, remove me.'” former director of the National Security Service (NSS) and ambassador David Shahnazaryan said during a press conference at the Sputnik Armenia Multimedia Press Center. According to him, in response to Nikol Pashinyan’s statements, the statement of the President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan was very concerning. And the statement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh differed in terms of content.

David Shahnazaryan clarified, “Arayik Harutyunyan noted that only the official representatives of the Republic of Artsakh can speak on behalf of Artsakh. It seems like a patriotic statement, but in reality it is very dangerous. In other words, this is Pashinyan’s dream- to overthrow the Minsk Group- which he sought to do with his partners, Azerbaijan and Turkey. This is a direct blow to the OSCE Minsk Group. Please do not give in to Arayik Harutyunyan’s false patriotic call.”
On the occasion of the announcement of the Artsakh National Assembly, David Shahnazaryan mentioned that it clearly states the demands that the Republic of Artsakh makes to Pashinyan, how he should represent the interests of Artsakh, and within what borders. “The statement says that Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan,” he said.
“I still hope that Arayik Harutyunyan will make a new statement, he will already bring the bases that are in the statement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh. Arayik Harutyunyan’s statement is a serious threat. Another gift to Azerbaijan, so to speak, is to finally defeat the Minsk Group, as it remains the only international platform where the political status of Artsakh should be determined.”
