Shogher Matevosyan, who joined the peaceful demonstration of human losses in front of the government against the “peace era,” told Aravot.am, “It simply came to our notice then. I am not an active protester. And imagine the situation that I want to fight like this. That is, you have to go out on the street. Our children need to know that there is a voice for them.
How long will this last, how many more casualties will we have? I do not know. Till when? This demonstration is for them, and the demands are clearly written on the posters: the government should put an end to the daily victims, and it should be engaged in army building. Have they declared an era of peace? I came across the term “peace beggar” on Facebook. It is very similar because our authorities do not demand peace. The defeated government begs for peace. And that way, we will never get peace. It seems to me that the authorities are well aware of all this, that is why they have gathered the security system around them, not at the borders, and are busy preserving their own selves.”
Shogher Matevosyan sees a radical way out of this situation. “When you see that nothing has been achieved for a long time, any promise of this government, any statement that has been made, the complete opposite has been done, not counting the provoked war, the failure of the negotiation process to the end, the disgraceful defeat and our country to the whole world, and presenting it in a pitiful way, the way out is for them to leave. I have never seen a more spineless, unworthy, and foolish government. Leave and do not destroy this already destroyed republic,” she said.
