“Artsakh is still in a difficult situation, but we can say that we are slowly moving from the resuscitation department to the intensive care unit,” Foreign Minister of Artsakh Davit Babayan said at a news conference on Wednesday, summing up 2021. He considers it important to get out of the difficult psychological situation for further success.
According to the Minister, the Foreign Ministry of Artsakh carried out its functions in 2021. Its traditional goals remained the same and new functions were added to them- that is, the preservation of Artsakh’s sovereignty. Overall, according to Babayan, they were successful at defending Artsakh’s interests on international platforms. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs closely cooperated with the Human Rights Offender and the Ministry of Education to defend the interests of Artsakh. Davit Babayan considers it important to maintain relations with Armenia and the Diaspora and to unite within Armenia.
Among the tasks to be completed in 2022, Davit Babayan emphasized strengthening Artsakh’s interests, preserving independence and sovereignty, and the philosophy of the Artsakh-Armenia-Diaspora trinity. He stated that in 2022, the Foreign Ministry of Artsakh will pursue an initiative policy that is bold and targeted, but at the same time, with a restrained and non-advertising information component, as much as possible. They will continue the principle of “do too much and talk too little,” which will not apply to the public sphere, which they hope will help to achieve more positive results.
