What specific proposals has Armenia presented in connection with demarcation and delimitation works? Speaking about this at an online press conference on Monday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, “The proposals are not about demarcation, but about the following: the trilateral statement adopted in Sochi states that the parties agreed to increase the level of security and stability on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and to take the matter to demarcation and delimitation.”
Pashinyan said that the proposals of the Armenian side are not a secret; it is a proposal to withdraw troops equally. Moreover, the Armenian side passed these proposals directly to Azerbaijan, as well as to Russia.
Responding to the package of proposals, Azerbaijan noted that demarcation and delimitation should take place without any preconditions. “We did not try to form a document that expresses the views of Armenia,” Pashinyan said, noting that it was drafted as a result of discussions. According to the Prime Minister, the sooner the commission on demarcation and delimitation issues is formed, the better. As for who took part in summarizing the proposals of the Armenian side, Pashinyan said that Russia has participated. This also included the observations of Azerbaijan and finally, Armenia.
