“Yes, an agreement has been reached that they will meet in Vienna on February 24,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan said during a government-NA questions-and-answers session on February 9, confirming that the representative of the Armenian side of the Armenia-Turkey dialogue, Ruben Rubinyan, will meet Serdar Kilic in Vienna on February 24. “We hope that this time substantive discussions will begin between the representatives, aimed at opening the RA-Turkey border and establishing diplomatic relations.”
Ararat Mirzoyan mentioned, “The signals about this from official Ankara are mostly in a positive context. Our expectations are the same.” As for the information that the Turkish Vice President invited Nikol Pashinyan to take part in the diplomatic conference to be held in Antalya in March, Ararat Mirzoyan clarified that the issue has not been discussed and is not being discussed. “It is a consequence of a wrong translation․․․ An invitation was sent in the name of myself and Ruben Rubinyan. There is really no decision. The decision will largely depend on the results of the aforementioned Vienna meeting.”
