On February 11, at around 5:50 am, shots were fired from the Azerbaijani positions located near Karmir Shuka and Taghavard communities of Artsah Republic’s Martuni region in the direction of residential houses, Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan informs.
On February 11, at around 05:50 am, shots were fired in the direction of the residential houses from the Azerbaijani positions located in the vicinity of Karmir Shuka and Taghavard communities of Martuni Region of the Republic of Artsakh.
Given the distance between the residential houses and the positions, and the fact that the residential part of the village is directly viewed by the Azerbaijani positions, it is undeniable that the Azerbaijani side targeted the houses of civilians, as a result of which the houses were damaged.
During the shootings aimed to intimidate the civilians, the window of the house of the resident of Karmir Shuka was smashed and the bullet penetrated into the living room where there were the three minor children and the wife of the landlord woken from the sounds of the shootings.
It is noteworthy that this case is another manifestation of regular intensified terrorist acts of the Azerbaijani armed forces in recent days.
The Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh reiterates that the Azerbaijani bases located in the vicinity of the peaceful settlements of Artsakh, the Armenophobia, and terrorist acts are a direct and indisputable threat to the rights of the people of Artsakh, to the right of life, in particular.
I reaffirm that the criminal actions carried out by the Azerbaijani side are of a regular and systematic nature which is aimed at creating an atmosphere of fear and despair in Artsakh.
Azerbaijan will continue its criminal attempts against the people of Artsakh until the international community unanimously condemns Azerbaijan’s blatant illegalities against humanity.
