A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The Government approved the investment program presented by Eduard Ohanyan for the construction of a commercial greenhouse complex in the Sevan community of the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. In order to implement the large-scale investment program, a decision will be made to alienate other lands of agricultural significance owned by the community in Sevan community to Eduard Ohanyan by direct sale by the municipality. “Green Solutions” LLC, founded by Eduard Ohanyan, has expressed a desire to implement an investment program worth at least 48 million euros in the community. 400-450 new jobs will be created.

Referring to the decision, Nikol Pashinyan stressed the importance of not creating artificial obstacles for such investment programs. “I want to give the following instruction. Once the de jure decisions are made, it must be ensured that no artificial obstacles are created in the future during the implementation of the program itself, in the next stages, and the program moves forward normally. Of course, sometimes we also see objective systemic problems that we have to work for their solution. But in general, our message to all levels of the government should be that the normal course of investment programs should not be hindered in any way. This is also important for the Government, because we have set very ambitious economic growth rates for us, and the main share of that economic growth is guaranteed by the private sector. Therefore, every effort should be made to ensure that public and private investment programs do not face artificial obstacles. This work is as important as making de jure decisions. We need to receive these signals and respond quickly to free people from bureaucratic, artificial hassles and possible corruption barriers.”

The Government will allocate 77,768,000 AMD to the Boxing Federation of Armenia for the organization of the European Adult Boxing Championship to be held in Yerevan on May 21-31. In this context, the Prime Minister stressed the need to carry out the planned work with proper quality. “By the way, when I say quality, I do not mean only the technical quality, but the aesthetic quality is also very important, especially in the case of restoration of monuments.
