On Thursday, the ARF Youth Union, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), and youth student organizations organized a joint protest near the Foreign Ministry building to tell Minister Ararat Mirzoyan that he “does not represent the interests of the Republic of Armenia.” The protesters announced, “They want to turn Armenia into a vilayet. Dear Armenians of the independent republics of Armenia and Artsakh, negotiations are taking place behind our backs.
They are trying to sell our Armenia and Artsakh at a convenient price. They are trying to sell our statehood, our homeland, our sovereignty. We have gathered with a clear demand to show that the Armenian people are not going to bow to the Turks. Ararat Mirzoyan claims that the people agree with those talks. Let’s ask him, where did he conduct that poll, in the Kemalist Contract Party? Who did he ask, the relatives of the soldiers captured after the war, the relatives of the casualties of the war, the citizens fighting for the homeland against the Turks? The opinion of their team can not become the law for us.

They are plotting behind our backs, they are negotiating. There is a Civil Contract member who talked about the Artsakh issue, maybe he decided not to lag behind Ararat Mirzoyan. Eduard Aghajanyan, a well-known DJ, states that the process of Artsakh being part of Azerbaijan should be discussed. Now I ask you a question: can we ever consider Artsakh being part of Azerbaijan? Of course not. We have gathered to say no to Nikol, no to the Civil Contract, and no to Azerbaijan.”
The protester read the 5 points proposed by Azerbaijan to Armenia and said, “One of the points is the unblocking of transport communication, including giving a special status to the so-called Zangezur corridor. Dear Civil Contract authorities, as much as you want a corridor in your territory, whatever ‘hole’ you want to give, we have nothing to give to the Turks.”
The activists said that the CC have very different values than they do. “Theirs is Bayraktar, ours is Nzhdeh. Theirs is Antalya, ours is Artsakh, theirs is the manat, ours is the tricolor, theirs is the vilayet, ours is the state. We look at the future of our homeland differently. We are looking at Artsakh, at the sovereignty and statehood of the Republic of Armenia.”
