“The collective security system of the region is in a rather serious condition. The military-political situation and geopolitical developments are complicated. Any source of tension will affect collective security and various border points in the region in bordering countries, including Armenia,” Seyran Ohanyan, a member of the Armenia faction and former Minister of Defense, told reporters in the parliament on March 28, referring to possible new threats in the context of Azerbaijan’s advance in Artsakh.
“That is why at any moment, we must wait for hostilities and war. If we want peace, we must prepare for war, and the steps of this government in that direction are very slow. I would like to emphasize again that the RA Armed Forces and the Artsakh Defense Army have come a long way, they are the most capable of recovering today, taking quick measures, and being a guarantee of the people’s security. And for that they must receive orders or have an agenda of reforms.
This contains secrets, but the fact that Azerbaijan is on the border between Artsakh and Armenia speaks of the fact that the government does not calculate the security priorities and all its actions are not adequate,” Seyran Ohanyan said. According to him, now any step from Azerbaijan is possible and we must be ready.
“Especially since the Zangezur Corridor is constantly repeated under the demand to unblock the roads. They already have platforms in that direction to carry out actions. It is our duty to close all the ways through which Azerbaijan can go to provocations.”
