For years, Armenia has not recognized the independence of Artsakh in order not to disrupt the negotiation process, but today the issue has become urgent for several reasons, the main of which is the behavior of Azerbaijan. Hovhannes Ghazaryan, the founder of the 5165 Movement (in the photo), spoke about this in a conversation with journalists near the RA National Assembly on April 4.
According to the speaker, regardless of the fact that the Armenian government is making silent concessions, it is talking about peace, by its description, from the false agenda, which was accepted by Nikol Pashinyan, declaring at the last government session that Azerbaijan continues ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, preparation for an attack against Artsakh and Armenia, and Azerbaijan increases its aggression. Meanwhile, only in January the same Nikol Pashinyan announced that no one can divert us from the peace agenda. The speaker also notes that we are losing in the diplomatic field while the war is still going on in the diplomatic field.
Hovhannes Ghazaryan also noted that the Armenian government does not speak about the territorial issue. It speaks only about the rights of the people of Artsakh. In that context, the international press writes that Armenia renounced the right of Artsakh to self-determination. In this situation, when Azerbaijan sees a big problem even with the use of the term Nagorno-Karabakh, when it does not accept the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing mission, Armenia has no choice but to recognize Artsakh and demand from the mediators to be consistent because they were the guarantor of the principles discussed so far.

“In this situation, not recognizing Artsakh means accepting that Artsakh will not be Armenian. It means opening the way for the genocide of the people of Artsakh and the manifestations of Azerbaijan’s continuous aggression, this time also against Armenia,” Hovhannes Ghazaryan said.
