On April 5 at the opposition rally on Liberty Square, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, member of the Armenia faction, and representative of the ARF Supreme Body, mentioned that today is a historic day, because “Today, with your presence, you proved with determination, you finally closed the rumors that the Armenian people are not interested in Artsakh, that we have come to terms with this situation.” According to him, today’s rally marked the beginning of closing the page of defeat for the Armenian people.
“Let us jointly declare that we will send any government that deviates from our vital demands to the writer’s lap. Our people have a legitimate right to oppose such a government, to overthrow it, to correct the backbone of the country. Today we announced from here that we own Artsakh, Armenia, and most importantly, we are ready to fight and defend our homeland. You are saying one thing with your determination today: these authorities do not have a mandate from the people to make new concessions to lead the country under false, stupid slogans of peace,” said Ishkhan Saghatelyan, adding that after the war the enemy continues aggression against Armenia and Artsakh and the current government prepares the people for new concessions.
“He says it is not possible, the army is weak, the people are impoverished, the struggle for the homeland means war. They continue to intimidate the people with war, presenting that we have two options: either deprivation of the homeland or war. We do not want a war, our struggle is for a dignified peace between Armenia and Artsakh. But they are trying to present that the situation is inevitable.” He noted that in 2018 the supporters of the concession came to power and we had a loss of the homeland. “Peace advocates have brought us only misery and war. Now, if Nikol wants peace, he must leave for that peace. In the history of Armenia, no one has the right to speak of peace more than Nikol, because he is a symbol of defeat and war. If we want to have dignity, real peace, we must get rid of them one day. Today, we are announcing the beginning of our new struggle in this square.”

Ishkhan Saghatelyan promised that this struggle would not stop until his final victory, and talked about what to do. “We must do everything we can to bring those sitting at home to the streets. We will finish our work on the day when everyone joins us. Our actions will be continuous, we will achieve success. We have to work day and night. I once again call on everyone to fight with national resistance and unity, moreover, always realizing that the struggle will be on two fronts. LWe are fighting for the Armenians of Artsakh and Armenia, and the government of the day for its power. We have an enemy, our struggle is aimed at those enemies.”
The rally ended with an hour-long protest in France Square. Ishkhan Saghatelyan urged to hold demonstrations in different places, close streets, squares, and raise the Artsakh flag in all cities.
