During the discussion organized by the Eurasian Experts Club, sociologist Samvel Manukyan stated that in order to wage an information war against Russia in the Ukrainian sphere, Armenia is a no-brainer. According to data published by Manukyan, 20% of young people with secondary education have not heard about the Crimean problem, and 35% about the Donbas problem. Eleven percent of young people with higher education are unaware of the Crimean problem and 33 percent of the Donbas problem. If in 2015, 73% of Armenians were positive about Crimea joining Russia, then 40% were positive about the unification of Donbas.
The speaker is convinced that Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine has a great potential to become a field of information war to spread anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia. The sociologist is convinced that the normalization of Russia-Ukraine relations will lead to radical changes around the world.
“History shows that when Armenia enters a large Russian territory, it prospers, when it leaves that territory, it finds itself in the field of survival risks,” said Samvel Manukyan.
