In the response letter U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Marie Tracy expresses their concerns by the ongoing tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as in Nagorno-Karabagh. Escalatory noves and provocative rhetoric opposed.
Recently I addressed U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Ms. Lynne Marie Tracy U.S. Embassy Yerevanand drew her attention to the statement made by the representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan on the criminal prosecution of Arayik Harutyunyan, the President of the Republic of Artsakh, in which a story of a missile attack on Gyanja (historical Gandzak) was presented as a reason.
The representative of the authorities of the state (i.e. Azerbaijan), which imposed a war on the civilians of Artsakh, announced about the initiation of criminal cases against the legitimate president of the state (i.e. Artsakh), which carried out self-defense. Such absolutely
inadmissible behavior by Azerbaijan pursues a criminal goal to cause fear among the civilians of Artsakh.
I informed Ms. Tracy that the representative told about some missile attack in the case when Azerbaijan, in gross violation of the basic
principles of pacific settlement of disputes, refrainment from the threat or use of force, unleashed a large scale military aggression
against Artsakh, used prohibited weapons, targeted the civilian population and infrastructures of Artsakh.

I asked Ambassador Tracy to condemn such unlawful behavior by Azerbaijan against the institute of the President of the Republic of Artsakh, who was elected by the people of Artsakh through democratic elections. I respectfully urged Ms. Tracy to make a relevant statement so that
Azerbaijan doesn’t hinder the process of establishing peace and stability in the region.
In response, Ms. Tracy noted that they also remain deeply concerned by ongoing tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as in
Nagorno-Karabagh, and oppose escalatory moves and provocative rhetoric. “The United States continues to urge Armenia and Azerbaijan to reengage in substantive negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to negotiate a comprehensive political settlement to the conflict. The U.S. is committed to supporting the Armenian people as they pursue a more democratic, peaceful, and brighter future.
I appreciate your constructive efforts towards this end”.
