“A question to the representatives of the opposition, the people who voted for Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, and who sent these people to the parliament: Well, when will these people work? When will they justify the salary they received?” The Speaker of the Parliament Alen Simonyan announced this at the NA plenary sitting on April 12. The two opposition factions announced on April 12 that they will not participate in this week’s sittings, they will leave for Artsakh and the RA border settlements, and the Artsakh flag was posted on the NA podium. Alen Simonyan continued the question.
“When will they justify the money spent by the state on them? Legislative initiatives are counted on the fingers, they are aimed at influencing Robert Kocharyan’s trial. Visits they do not participate in, international meetings they do not participate in. It is suggested to discuss the situation in Artsakh with the Prime Minister, but they do not agree. They work together with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, a statement – a provocation at the border, and so on. All this is not a coincidence, you have to give the answer to all this.”
According to Alen Simonyan, the opposition came to the sitting and left the hall to press the button that provides the salary. “They could not have come at all and spread an announcement, but no, they had to come, register, and then apply to the staff and to say that it is a political protest, that they are negatively respected, they should not be deprived of their salary. This is the opposition. There perhaps was a rumor at that time that they had received a call from Moscow that they were going to come to power, but oops! The citizens said that they would decide, and what happened is what happened. Why don’t you resign, can you? I’m sure not. If you do not work, why do you get paid? Find yourselves!”
Then Alen Simonyan mentioned that he has information that the opposition, leaving for Artsakh, plans to hold meetings, but they will take place on Friday. “We have important matters over the next four days. We have a report from the Prime Minister and the government, as well as questions and answers, but the working function is not used. I will discuss with the staff the possibility of recognizing this absence as disrespectful. I do not think that the citizens were sent to the opposition for such a working style.”
