“The opposition is the herald of war, it does not defend Artsakh, but provokes”: Hayk Konjoryan

April 13,2022 15:03

“I remember that after the parliamentary elections, Seyran Ohanyan said that going to the parliament is a trench, and they must come and fight in that trench. They came, dug trenches on these benches, and engaged in throwing bottles, provoking fights, and devaluing the parliament in every way. Maybe they think that their problem has been solved here in the trench, and now they are going to Artsakh to ditch again against the RA government, the RA people,” Hayk Konjoryan, the leader of the Civil Contract faction, stated at the April 12 plenary sitting. The two opposition factions announced that they will not participate in this week’s sittings. They will leave for Artsakh, to the RA border settlements, and the Artsakh flag was posted on the NA podium.

“What is the logic of placing the flag of Artsakh here in different parts of the Republic of Armenia against anyone? I do not understand. Artsakh is in our hearts and minds, the people of Artsakh have sacrificed their best children for the sake of it. Placing the flag and defending the interests of Artsakh should be done where it is needed, while the opposition in all inter-parliamentary platforms, where the Artsakh flag should be raised, boycotts, does not do it, and it does not use the people’s mandate by the instructions of specific people, then comes and places the flag where there is no need for it,” said Hayk Konjoryan. According to him, the opposition fight is inside Armenia, that is why the generals were invited to Yerevan during the war. “The opposition is the herald of war, it is not defending Artsakh, but provoking and aggravating the security problems in order to seize power in Armenia, to carry out a coup. We will not allow it and neither will the people.”
