“This regime must leave, but the country must not be in turmoil because enemies are waiting with sharp teeth around our country. Therefore, during our struggle we must not open a new door to the enemy, we must act in a peaceful, legal, and constitutional way,” said Avetik Chalabyan, co-founder of the ArAr Foundation, addressing the public on April 19 on Freedom Square.
On April 19, the 5165 movement lowered the party flag and joined the demand for Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation in Freedom Square, uniting around the idea of saving Artsakh, and calling on other parties to do the same. “There is this opportunity. We are a parliamentary country. There is a possibility of forming a new majority in the parliament if at least 20 of the 71 pro-government deputies go to the opposite camp.
There is an opportunity to go to new parliamentary elections, which, however, is less favorable because it gives grounds for instability. Therefore, our task is to go in a reasonable way, to persuade at least 1/3 of today’s pro-government deputies to change camps. This is realistic,” Avetik Chalabyan expressed confidence. According to him, there have been two such precedents in the history of Armenia.
