Ucom is the first company in the Armenian telecommunications market to decide in 2019 to issue high yield corporate bonds in AMD and USD.
In the previous article, we examined the main differences between bonds and bank deposits. Continuing the topic, this time we will look into the advantages of purchasing specifically Ucom bonds.
First of all, before entrusting your money, it is very important to understand how sustainable is the development of the given company. It is necessary to follow the company news, commercial activities, and regular updates of the range of goods, services or products in order to have an idea of the level of the company development. For example, in 2021 Ucom has not only launched completely new packages of the voice service: Level Up prepaid and Level Up postpaid tariff plans, but also, by combining both fixed and mobile services, issued a new Unity tariff, which has no equivalent in the market. This is clear evidence that Ucom is on the path of sustainable development.
The second reason is the high yield of Ucom bonds.

“If we compare bonds with bank deposits, then we can say with confidence that buying a bond is much more profitable. For clarity, let me mention that in 2019, the average interest rate on dollar deposits in banks was 4.5%, and on Ucom bonds – 7.5%, while AMD deposits could be invested at an average of 9.55% compared to 11 % on Ucom bonds”, said Ara Khachatryan, Director General at Ucom.
And finally, the third reason for acquiring specifically Ucom bonds is the open and transparent working style of the company. Information on the Company’s financial flows is in open access both on the Public Services Regulatory Commission’s and the Company’s official websites.
