“We have expressed our position more than once. All the provisions of the trilateral agreement must be strictly fulfilled,” Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said in response to a reporter’s question on April 23 during an event entitled “Memorial Park” in Victory Park. It should be noted that a “Memorial Park” was created in Victory Park and 150 trees were planted in memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War. Referring to the situation in Parukh again, Sergey Kopirkin noted that he had nothing to add to the position of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“I do not want to take responsibility now, to give assessments. We have stated our position more than once, the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, the Special Representative of the Foreign Ministry, have repeatedly stated about it.” According to the ambassador, the mission of the Russian peacekeepers is aimed at “ensuring stability” in the region. “As for the number of peacekeepers, it is determined by trilateral agreements.” The journalists recalled the statements of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on conducting an official investigation against the Russian peacekeepers. The Russian Ambassador said, “Peacekeepers are doing what is up to them to maintain peace and stability in the region. It is widely accepted that Russian peacekeepers have the most important role to play in ensuring peace and stability in the region. No one puts that into question.”
