Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated after the May 5 government session that Armenia and Azerbaijan have not discussed the issue of enclaves so far. In a briefing with reporters, he said that the opposition’s claims that if a peace agreement is signed, there will be an issue of enclaves, are incomprehensible.
According to him, the opposition sometimes makes such statements that have nothing to do with reality. “The issue of enclaves has not been raised so far. It can be said that since there is an enclave on both sides, and there is an enclave on the territory of Azerbaijan, Artsvashen and Armenia, their territories are almost equal, both sides are silent on this issue, it has not been discussed yet. Our hope is that the possible solution is that the enclaves of Armenia are left to Azerbaijan, the enclaves of Azerbaijan, which are in the territory of Armenia, remain part of Armenia. Of course, there is a question of how they arose, which we continue to study, but this is the general long-term solution,” said Armen Grigoryan.
