The opposition did not organize a big rally or march on May 14. They devoted the platform to discussions. Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Vice-Speaker of the parliament, informed journalists that there will be a huge pan-Armenian rally in France square. Referring to the nature of their acts of disobedience, Ishkhan Saghatelyan said, “When we are many, we do bigger acts, when we are few, we do smaller acts. The more we are, the bigger buildings we will block.”
He assured the journalists that they carry out a planned and consistent struggle. Answering the question, is it possible to achieve the goal, that is to oust authorities from office, Ishkhan Saghatelyan said, “The only way to oust authorities from office is under wide public pressure. No need to reinvent the wheel: to form dual power in the country. We are at that stage, and we will prove it. This is not a struggle of one day, one person, one party.”
Ishkhan Saghatelyan, addressing the government representatives, warned that they are going after everyone, “The authorities don’t have any other support. The only support is the police’s brutal force, which is trying to arrest and detain our comrades-in-arms with various false and spurious accusations.”
