The executive body proposed addenda to the law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic (Psychoactive) Substances and the RA Criminal Code. Criminal responsibility will be designed also in case of also illegal circulation of the derivatives of narcotic drugs and psychotropic (psychoactive) substances, consumption, theft, extortion, smuggling, inclining, involving of their use, promoting their use and in other cases of their illegal application.
While presenting the issue at the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan noted that to raise the efficiency of fight against the illegal circulation of the drugs amendments were made in the Agreement Cooperation of the State Parties of Commonwealth Independent States in Fight Against Illegal Circulation of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors by the Governments of the CIS Participant States. The RA National Assembly already had ratified the protocol on Amending the Agreement. The necessity of the legislative regulation emerged for complying with the mentioned protocol provisions.
