When asked about his assessment of former Minister Andranik Piloyan, whether Piloyan is a national hero, and about how the current made Piloyan a hero, yet Piloyan was arrested because of some “Baxi” case, the Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan told reporters, “I will refrain from commenting on the criminal case. I have adopted an approach that I will never touch upon it. Follow the official news from the Anti-Corruption Committee. We should not forget about the presumption of human innocence. This is first. The second thing is the approach adopted by our political team in general, that regardless of the person, the path taken; if there is an action, it should be assessed accordingly.”
In response to the observation that there is an impression that it seems that the process of devaluation of heroes is going on by the government as we saw what happened to Manvel Grigoryan, Pambukhchyan answered, “It is a wrong assessment that such a policy is being pursued by our political team.”
In response to the question about how the opposition was walking around the ministries and trying to get the answer to this question, so can he say that Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan, Pambukhchyan answered, “My position is written in the government’s program and I fully share the negotiations that are taking place. The Minister of Emergency Situations is not authorized to give such an assessment. I consider every point of the government’s program to be mine.”
