Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan assessed the first meeting of the demarcation commissions with Azerbaijan as constructive, but we have casualties at the border almost every day, so how can we understand this? The journalists asked this question to the Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan in the National Assembly. He answered, “Obviously, the work of the commission must continue because negotiations are the best solution in all respects. In other words, even the worst negotiations are more desirable than military action.”
When the journalists tried to convey the proposal of the former head of the staff of the Constitutional Court Edgar Ghazaryan to refuse those meetings because with them we will finally lose Artsakh, Arman Sargsyan responded, “Well, let him save Artsakh, what can I say?” To the question of Aravot about how the opposition says, why aren’t our borders furnished, it can be seen even from Papikyan’s photos that our positions are without tires, the deputy minister answered, “The opposition was in power until 2018, and when you browse YouTube now until 2018, you will see that they were praising those who handed over tires, it was with tires, wasn’t it?”
The journalists intervened, they were robbers, they left, what are you doing now? Arman Sargsyan answered, “We do it and it’s tangible. There are contract employees in the Syunik region. Ask them how it was 6 months ago versus how it is now. You should take into account that the line of our border has changed and grown. Many things have been done, but it is not possible to solve all the problems in one or two years. You can see the huge amount of engineering work that has been done. Every family has a soldier, the army is the only place where everyone is represented, and neither the negative nor the positive can be kept.”
When one of the journalists asked when our territories will be liberated from the Azerbaijani occupation, the Deputy Minister of Defense’s answer was the following: “You are not saying something good for Artsakh, you are saying something bad for the Ministry of Defense. You will enlist and liberate, just you, you, and you.”
