Member of the Union and former Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan spoke about the challenges of foreign policy and the consequences of failed diplomacy, which can put Armenia in an extreme situation in the current conditions.
“The EU has no international mandate to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It means that the EU is not discussing the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but the issue of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, ignoring the Artsakh issue in general. This is very dangerous in the sense that it causes direct indignation and anger on the part of Russia, which is a key player in resolving this issue and stabilizing the region.
The statement made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, who said that the EU would be better not to get involved in this issue, shows that Armenian diplomacy has taken on the role of adventure. It turns out that Armenia and Azerbaijan are going into direct cooperation, opposing Russia, organizing their meetings under the auspices of an organization that is currently imposing large-scale sanctions on Russia, not only of an economic nature. Most of the EU member states are also members of NATO, which now provides direct military assistance to Ukraine,” Ghazaryan said.
According to him, no document has been signed in Brussels, and written trilateral statements are being signed during cooperation with Russia.
