About 9.4 billion AMD was spent from the state budget to ensure the social package

Annual Report on State Budget of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs for 2021 Discussed

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs carried out 17 programs and 123 measures in 2021. The actual annual expenditure was 619 billion 774.1 million AMD, the performance – 98.8%. the RA Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan informed about this at the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committees on Labor and Social Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs convened on June 3.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan presented the annual report on the state budget for 2021, referred to the programs and measures taken.

According to the rapporteur, about 61.4 billion AMD was actually allocated to the Ministry by the decision of the Government in 2021, aimed at mitigating the effects of the pandemic and war.

7.3 billion AMD was allocated from the state budget to resolve the problems of the elderly, persons with disabilities, women and children. About 1.7 billion AMD was spent to resolve the employment problems. The expenditures on providing employment to people displaced from the Artsakh Republic as a result of the war are also included in them. About 20 programs to provide social assistance to Artsakh were carried out, support was provided to the citizens displaced from Artsakh, the wounded servicemen, their families, the citizens who lost their real estate.

About 9.4 billion AMD was spent from the state budget to ensure the social package. About 78.3 billion AMD was spent on vulnerable groups, as well as on social assistance in case of disability, on the improvement of the demographic situation.

According to Narek Mkrtchyan, work is underway to introduce a new insecurity assessment system. In the previous year, according to the rapporteur, as a result of objective administration, the number of beneficiary families increased by about 10.000. 83.710 families received benefits to raise the standard of living of the family.

Narek Mkrtchyan answered to the deputies’ questions, provided clarifications on the provision of postpaid payments to pensioners from non-cash payments and on the regulations related to the return of deposits in savings banks during the Soviet Union. Reference was made to the work of the Unified Social Service.
