/TASS/. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart have discussed arrangements for a summit meeting between Moscow and Ankara, Russia’s top diplomat said on Wednesday.

“We have discussed the dates of forthcoming meetings on various levels between our governments and in other formats,” Lavrov said at a news conference following the talks with Turkey’s Mevlut Cavusoglu. “We did discuss the preparations for a new summit on the sidelines of the next ninth meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council,” he added.

Lavrov praised the partnership between Moscow and Ankara as mature, saying bilateral relations were based on mutual respect and guided by good neighborhood principles.

“The tone for the relations is obviously set by the two presidents who have been having regular contact,” the Russian foreign minister said, adding that the two leaders had already held nine discussions on pressing bilateral and international issues this year.
