One of the media outlets connected with the government published the appeals of the I Have Honor and Armenia factions to the chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, who arrived in Armenia. The article was titled, “The Armenia and I Have Honor factions requested a meeting with Volodin, who arrived in Armenia, but were rejected,” and other media outlets also published it. The article mentioned that the opposition factions emphasized in their application that the current government of the Republic of Armenia does not represent the interests of the Armenian people, and that is why they asked for a meeting with Volodin, but were rejected, even being opposition factions of the RA National Assembly.
Armenia faction MP Gegham Manukyan told Aravot that the title of the article at least does not correspond to reality; it is manipulative. “In the letter, we simply explained why we are not participating in the sitting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.” To our clarifying question of if they asked for a meeting, or if they appealed, did they receive an answer from Volodin, Gegham Manukyan answered, “We said, if you want to meet, let’s meet.”
It should be noted that that media outlet connected with the government published the photo of the application. “We very much hope that you will provide time for a separate meeting with the parliamentary opposition factions to give us an opportunity to share with you our views on a number of topical issues,” the letter reads.
