A new district will be built between the Ani and Austrian districts of Gyumri, with three types of houses, similar to American suburban settlements. As we are informed, it will be an eco-district and it will be called “American.” The website where photos of the district to be built, private houses and the construction technology, the composition of the construction material used, seismic resistance, and even the prices are published, is called “American District in Gyumri.”
The houses are designed to be built with Canadian frame technology, which is used to build the majority of private houses in the world. They can withstand an earthquake of up to 9 magnitude. The developer informs through the website that the houses will be built of SIP panels (structural insulated panel), which provides durability, energy saving, and fast construction. Thermal homes are built from SIP panels. We also learn from the website that the construction will be carried out by “West House” construction company.
The chief architect of Gyumri Henrik Gasparyan told Aravot that the site was offered to the investor by the municipality. The land has not been allocated yet, it is in progress, and at the moment measurement works are underway. According to the municipality official, the developer presented the municipality with the main concept of what they plan to build. Henrik Gasparyan said that the municipality will publish details after the approval of the project.
