In recent days, the question has been raised more often why the current government, when talking about the history of the settlement of the Artsakh conflict, starts from 1998, when in fact the process of settlement of that conflict begins with the ceasefire of 1994.
The deputy of the NA Armenia faction Aghvan Vardanyan told Aravot.am, “If you look at the composition and structure of this government, you will see dozens and dozens of people who are formers of the former, or are the children of the oldest ones. That is, they are the generation of people who were in power until 1998 and whose removal from power caused them to accumulate poison and desire for revenge within themselves due to the consistent steps of one person.
That is why they do not remember or criticize until 1998. They or their parents were in power until 1998. They instilled that desire for revenge and hatred toward those who came after 1998. And in 1998, the government changed because of the Artsakh issue, with the prioritization of Artsakh, the attitude of the first president on the Artsakh issue, the articles, interviews, and positions. So, this is somewhat natural, as we can consider the revenge of the first president and the hatred towards the ARF that comes from his parents to be natural.”
