Supply of ammunition, spare parts, UAVs: What did Azerbaijan manage to do after the war?

July 02,2022 20:02

In the post-war period, Azerbaijan announced the reforms of the Armed Forces on the Turkish model, and at the moment, five Azerbaijani military units, with officers and ordinary personnel, have already undergone special training in Turkey. Tigran Abrahamyan, the founder of the Henaket analytical center and I Have Honor faction MP, addressing the question of what Azerbaijan has done after the war, spoke about this during the discussion initiated by the Unification movement.

“They have special units that are already located in the Karvachar, Hadrut, and Kashatagh sectors. Azerbaijan was provided with them not only at the frontline level, but also reorganized military units under the direct supervision and participation of Turkey. In addition, Azerbaijan has not only built the first line in the new sectors, solved the problem of being located at important tactical and strategic heights, but also brought the first line to the appropriate condition, including infrastructures and normal service,” informed Tigran Abrahamyan.

According to him, there is also information about deployment of heavy equipment in different sectors. “I say this not to show what actions will take place in the near future, but I definitely want to say that the issue of border infrastructure deployment in Azerbaijan has already gone through several stages.”

As for arms supplies, at the moment, as Abrahamyan mentioned, Azerbaijan is replenishing the existing ammunition, spare parts, and anti-aircraft missiles.

“Agreements with a large number of countries show that starting from 2023, we will witness supplies of modern weapons to Azerbaijan. The main directions are UAVs: reconnaissance, strike. It is noticeable that Azerbaijan is in the process of acquiring long-range weapons. On the other hand, the number of special purpose units is increasing dramatically. All this that I said was only the visible part.”

As for post-war Armenia, Tigran Abrahamyan mentioned that two months after the war, an announcement was made about the reforms of the Armed Forces, but no one has seen real reforms in 1.5 years. There have been no serious reforms in the security system, and there is nothing inspiring optimism.
