On June 6, at 09:07 an emergency call was received to Aragatsotn Regional Crisis Management Center that explosion with fire had occurred in a bank in Ashtarak town.
Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MES of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out that the explosion with fire (under unclear circumstances) occurred at Ashtarak branch of “Unibank” OJSC at 10 Vardges Petrosyan Street: there were one victim and six casualties.

The casualties (H. K. born in 1991, H. Ch. born in 1996, L. A. born in 1996, A. M. born in 1972, H. Kh. born in 1978, L. Sh. born in 1996 and R. Kh. born in 1963) were hospitalized to the medical center in Ashtarak town, where the health condition of H. K. was assessed as serious, H. Ch., H. Kh. and L. Sh. – as fair, L. A. and A. M. – as satisfactory. H. Ch., H. Kh. and L. Sh. were transferred to the “National Center of Burns” CJSC of Yerevan city, R. Kh. died, the others receiving appropriate medical aid were discharged.
The fire was localized at 09:25 and extinguished at 09:54.
The documents (about 4 running meters) in the archival storage room of the bank branch were brunt, customer service windows in the lobby, a door, the inner wall (about 30 square meters), “Mazda”, “Opel” and two “Mercedes-Benz” cars parked near the bank and the window of nearby aviation agency were damaged.
