State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan considers it important that the first event of the Future Armenian initiative took place in Artsakh. Beglaryan expressed his opinion about this during the opening event of the Future Armenian Conference held in Matenadaran. He is convinced that many problems will be solved together with the Future Armenian initiative in the coming years.
“This was important for us both symbolically and from a practical point of view, not only in Artsakh, but in the entire Armenian community. It was effective from the point of view of the format that an inclusive methodology was chosen and representatives of different groups of society were represented on the basis of different age, gender, social and other criteria and had the opportunity to freely express their opinion regarding the current situation and future solutions,” said Artak Beglaryan.
According to him, it was important and effective that demography was chosen as the topic, because demography is one of the most important pillars from the point of view of the long-term Armenian future of Artsakh. “I would say it’s probably second to safety, and the longer we look at what we’re going to do, the more important demographics are going to be.”

The State Minister of Artsakh noted that the Future Armenian event was organized jointly with the government of Artsakh. In response to the question about the problems and solutions that Artsakh society wants to see, Artak Beglaryan answered that the main problem is security.
“To a large extent, the issue that concerns the people of Artsakh is the long-term uncertainty of how we can overcome the uncertainty. And here, in my opinion, what we need to do is to explain through honest conversation, communication based on trust, that everything is not predictable at this moment, but a lot depends on our actions today and tomorrow, including in the field of security, demographics, etc. Here I attach great importance to ideological work both in Artsakh and in the whole of Armenia. Artsakh is of exceptional importance for Armenia and the entire Armenian people, and I think that here we can provide the ideological basis and, based on it, long-term success in security, demographic, socio-economic and all other fields,” said Mr. Beglaryan.
