World cinema legend, winner of the main prize at Cannes and Berlin festivals, Oscar-winning director and screenwriter, and living classic of world cinema, Costa Gavras is the guest of honor at the 19th Golden Apricot film festival.
He visited the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia, visited the Cinematheque cinema museum, then a meeting with the cinema giant took place at the theater named after H. Malyan.

He was also in the famous “Fireplace Hall” of the Cinema House, on the walls of which the greats of world cinema and other fields have left their signatures.
“We want you to leave your signature on our walls, where the signatures of our elders are,” Harutyun Khachatryan, the founding president of the Golden Apricot film festival, said during the meeting. Costa Gavras signed and then left a note: “Congratulations on this beautiful movie house of yours.”
He also wished the filmmakers well with a glass of cognac and advised them to collect any film-related relics for Cinematheque. “Your presence helps our film festival a lot,” said Harutyun Khachatryan.
He mentioned that there were problems after the war, but the festival is back on its feet again.
