On the occasion of the French National Day, the Ambassador of France to Armenia Anne Louyot organized a reception on July 14. First, the anthems of the Republic of France and the Republic of Armenia were played, performed by bass baritone Adam Barro. Then the Ambassador of France to Armenia and the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan gave a speech.
“I am addressing you with great excitement, because the last time July 14 was celebrated was in 2019. Since then, Armenia has been hit hard by war and Covid-19, and my thoughts are with those who died in the process. Today, Europe is deeply destabilized by the unjustified aggression against Ukraine, which has already claimed many lives and which we strongly condemn.
Democracy is threatened in many regions,” said the French ambassador to Armenia. Among other things, the ambassador mentioned in her speech that France held the presidency of the EU Council for the last 6 months, among the priorities of France is the strengthening of Europe’s sovereignty so that it can conduct an ambitious dialogue with distant and close neighbors, as it is done in the case of Armenia. She referred to Armenian-French relations and common commitments for democracy.
