Today, an event was organised by “Partnership for Open Society” and the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia to present the Civil Society’s Collective Monitoring of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
This EU-Armenia CEPA’s collective monitoring has been initiated and led by a group of civil society organisations with experience in assessing and monitoring the implementation of democratic reforms and public policy development in Armenia.
The event was held for the attention of representatives of the EU countries, different institutions, and Armenian civil society partners, aiming to present the results and develop a constructive and effective discussion. This fourth session focused on Labour Rights.
“Workers, employees, self-employed deserve to be treated properly and humanely. These fundamental rights include decent work and freedom of association to equal opportunity and protection against discrimination. Improving working conditions is not only a question of dignity and respect for human rights, but also contributes to improving efficiency, ownership and the feeling of belonging to a company or a collective project” mentioned the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin.
