USAID is proud to help equip Armenian youth as agents of change! Ambassador Lynne M. Tracy joined Minister Vahram Dumanyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, as well as other key government partners to celebrate graduates of the new “Engaged Citizen” civic education program.

Eight universities throughout Armenia offer this new course and over 250 students have already enrolled. The course fosters active citizenship, democratic governance, and human rights and allows the students to have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and executing a capstone project to apply their learning to real life experiences and practice vital skills in civic engagement.

The Engaged Citizen course is made possible by funding from USAID’s Strengthening Electoral Processes and Political Accountability (SEPPA) project partner, IFES Armenia.
