There has been a communication problem in the Aghavno community of Kashatagh region of Artsakh since Tuesday. It is not possible to talk with the mayor of Andranik Chavoushian.

In a conversation with Aravot.am, director Hovhannes Ishkhanyan, who is in Aghavno currently, said that some of the residents and citizens who came to protect Aghavno still remain in Aghavno. “Naturally, the village leader is also there. The police carried out good surveillance at night. I don’t know if they will stay in the future or not. I mean the remaining days, but tonight they worked.”

We wondered what the discussions are like regarding staying in Aghavno. Was the security threat taken into account? “The discussions are such that the residents will stay at least until the 25th of the month. Probably, they will get leave after that, but it is not clear. The approaches are different,” said our interlocutor.

Hovhannes Ishkhanyan answered that there are no organizational problems related to the evacuation of residents. “In recent days, intense work was carried out by the local self-government bodies and the police. They are running around all day. They work in an organized manner.”

Although the November 9 statement did not envisage the depopulation of the Berdzor corridor, the residents of Berdzor, Aghavno, and Sus were ordered to leave their settlements.
