“My son was my only child, 19 years old. My son and twenty soldiers of his battery were killed in the war instigated by Pashinyan and his junta, as a result of deliberate chaos and widespread treacherous orders. Two years have passed and no person in the government has been punished to this day,” Naira Melikyan, the mother of artilleryman Hayk Melikyan, who died in the 2020 war, announced at the Independence Movement rally in Republic Square.
On the advice of Armenian Independence Declaration Day, former Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan initiated the Independence Movement and invited citizens to the square to go up to Nikol Pashinyan by public demand and demand his resignation.
Naira Melikyan mentioned, “We were in a nightmare for 14 months when the remains of our children were handed over to us. I received one bone from my child and I still don’t know where his body is. We still have prisoners and missing people, while the government looks at all this with cynicism and thumbs up. We are obliged to fight for the living in order to have a homeland. I go through hell every day and I don’t want the same to happen to others. But this Turkish government surrenders a part of our homeland every day. As Anna Hakobyan said, it turns out that our children died “for nothing”… for any reasonable Armenian there is no doubt that this is a Turkish plan, but I am horrified by this widespread indifference.”
The hero’s mother called the claims that the power centers have already decided everything for us groundless. “If your mother needs help, then will we say that nothing depends on us? So why don’t you help our motherland? Finally, do we have to prove that we are a nation, not a mob? In Aghavno, people burned their houses and moved the remains of their relatives. We can be next. Where will we rebury our relatives if there is no homeland left? Since 2018, what has been happening in RA is planned by murderous power centers, but there is one thing they cannot plan. It is the wave of people’s awakening. Syunik is next after Berdzor. If Syunik does not exist, Armenia will not exist, and Armenia will become the transit area of Turkey and Azerbaijan.”
