“Against the background of the Ukrainian crisis, many Russian citizens moved to Armenia for well-known and not so well-known reasons,” said Samvel Babayan, the former commander of the Defense Army, to Aravot.am, referring to the famous businessman Ruben Vardanyan’s statement about renouncing Russian citizenship and settling in Artsakh.
“Ruben Vardanyan’s move to Artsakh is a moral and psychological positive impulse for the people of Artsakh. The people living in conditions of uncertainty have high expectations. As you can see, it is hopeful and encouraging. Just don’t get too excited; a tourist was brought to Artsakh by patriotic motives in the 2000s. And time will tell the rest,” added Samvel Babayan, refraining from answering other questions.
