“Yesterday, I was looking at the scenario of the 44-day period: lack of information, only information in Armenian… I think that we have reached the end point and under the wave of emotions and pain, we decided with our parents that we should call on the Armenian public and our people to finally go out on the streets and stand up for our state, because the Turks are already in our sovereign territory, only 200 km away from Yerevan,” Naira Melikyan, the mother of Hayk Melikyan, who died in the 44-day war, told reporters in front of the National Assembly building.
Relatives of soldiers who died in the 44-day war and members of the 5165 movement gathered near the National Assembly building. The parents of the victims met with the deputies of the opposition Armenia faction. Naira Melikyan said that they share the call of Ishkhan Saghatelyan to the former presidents and spiritual leaders of the Republic of Armenia to unite and lead the people at the critical moment for the state and the people, clearly mentioning the name of the prime minister of the opposition. The parents of the victims also present their own call-demand to the three presidents of Armenia and the Catholicos, that their meeting and agreement should take place a second earlier. “So that they come and lead us, finally get rid of this Turkish junta, remove Pashinyan, because without removing him, nothing is possible.” The speaker called on everyone to go out to the street near the NA building and wait for the congregation and leadership of the three presidents of Armenia and the Catholicos.
