“Our goal is to restore Armenia’s lost territories and strengthen its sovereignty in recent years,” former deputy and one of the coordinators of the “Strong Armenia with Russia: For a New Union,” Hayk Babukhanyan, told reporters during a demonstration near the Russian Embassy in Armenia. In response to the journalists’ question about Russia’s intervention in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflicts, Hayk Babukhanyan answered that if Azerbaijan has not occupied the rest of Artsakh so far, the Russian peacekeeping forces are the guarantor of this. ”
As a result of Nikol’s actions, Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, which is fueled by NATO, the United States and England, we have lost territories. What was preserved was solely thanks to the Russian peacekeeping troops. Our own forces are not enough to resist aggression. Unfortunately, the same can be said for those border areas of Armenia where Russian peacekeeping troops are not stationed.”
Hayk Babukhanyan insisted that thanks to the Nikol government, the Armenian army is unable to face the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression alone, and our only practical supporter is Russia. He mentioned that their main goal is to achieve the deployment of Russian peacekeeping troops on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. “If there is a big Russian-Turkish war, even if Russia wins, nothing will be left of Armenia, that’s why we have to solve our problem diplomatically today. We have to sign a new agreement with the Russians, according to which they will have the right to stand on our borders.”

Hayk Babukhanyan recalled that Russia gave us weapons, sold them, and donated them before Nikol Pashinyan came to power. “The prime minister admitted that he is so untalented that he has money, but they don’t give him weapons. Until 2018 there was no such thing, there is none now, Russia continues to provide military-technical support to Armenia.” Hayk Babukhanyan concluded his speech by asserting that there is only one way to save our country. Armenia and Artsakh should join the Russia-Belarus union state.
